A good status update is "a subtle art", according to The New York Times... and I couldn't agree more! In our newly formed world of online social networking, a well-written status update is a vehicle of self-expression, just as much as a means to inform and engage the people in our lives. Done skillfully, the status update creates a unique sense of closeness with others, no matter how distant the audience.
Within my own circle of friends, I started to gain notoriety after people enthusiastically began following my distinctive (okay, twisted!) status updates. Wherever I ran into people, they couldn't wait to let me know how much they looked forward to reading my postings, and many asked if they could borrow a few for their own pages.
